HOW INVISIBLE DOG FENCES WORK
Invisible dog fences are a current trend among many dog owners that utilize technology to ensure the safety of a dog. With the help of an invisible dog fence, pet owners can now safely let their dogs play in the yard without having to worry about them straying away.
Invisible dog fences use an electric underground wire that is placed around a perimeter in the yard. The electric wire has a receiver which is usually a collar that the dog wears. The electric wire is connected to the receiver such that it sends radio frequency signals to it.
When the dog goes near the invisible fence, a warning signal is sent to the collar. If the dog continues further a shock is sent to the collar preventing the dog from crossing the perimeter with the wire. The shock does not cause any harm to the dog contrary to popular belief but rather prevent it from walking further.
The dog will instead experience a slight tingling feeling in the body from the shock stimulation. The good thing about invisible dog fences is after a while the dog will learn not to cross a certain point in the yard.
This is a way of training the dog to stay within the compound while still have fun running around. Invisible dog fences are economical because they are cheap compared to installing a physical fence to keep the dog in the compound.
Also, they are convenient for individuals that live in areas that prohibit putting up physical fences. The dog training requires one to mark the perimeter with the invisible fence using flags.
The dog is trained to stop when they approach the flags which mark the perimeter and go back. With intensive training, the dogs can learn their boundaries, and one will no longer need the flags to mark the area with the invisible fence.
